5 Great Superfoods that Boost Your Immune System. Superfood Glow

Superfoods (foods that have a high amount of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants) help maintain a strong immune system to fight off colds, flu & the more aggressive corona virus! Their high concentration of nutrients make them great for your health and beauty. With everything going on right now it's so important to stay calm, healthy and relaxed. Take this time to meditate, focus on bettering yourself and your family, most importantly stay healthy and safe. Below I’ve listed some of my favorite superfoods.

Ginger is an aromatic super food most commonly used to add a kick to drinks, teas, soups and Asian dishes. Ginger reduces inflammation and relieves pain. It also helps to reduce nausea. Eating ginger can can also fight wrinkles! It’s packed with antioxidants that reduce toxins in skin cells while increasing blood circulation which reduces the appearance of aging.

Garlic not only adds amazing flavor to food, it’s a super food packed with antioxidants that helps build a strong immune system and strengthen your body‘s natural defenses. Consumption of garlic has a positive affect on blood pressure and high cholesterol levels. Eating garlic also helps in keeping glucose levels in the blood to a minimum.

Kale is another great superfood. Leafy greens like spinach and kale are rich in vitamin K, a powerhouse nutrient. It’s high antioxidant content strengthens your immune system. This superfood also contains Zeaxanthin a naturally occurring antioxidant that protects skin and helps even out skin tone.

Blueberries are loaded with vitamin C and potassium. Another tasty super food packed with vitamins that boost your immune system and protect against illness. Blueberries are known to aid in digestion because they are a fruit loaded with fiber.

Lastly, a personal fave, Green Tea/Matcha. Green tea is an excellent source of powerful polyphenol antioxidants that reduce inflammation in the body. These antioxidants also proactively protect cells from damage that can lead to a number of chronic illnesses making it a super food with a broad range of health protection. Greene Tea has been known to support brain health, weight management, regulate blood sugar, prevent diabetes, weight management and support a healthy immune system. My personal favorite green tea is by Yogi Blueberry Slim Life Green Tea sweetened with cane sugar or honey.

Matcha (ground green tea) has a high content of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, which makes matcha a powerful way to fight a cold or flu. The most popular way matcha powder is ususally eaten is in the form of a matcha latte. Matcha powder is also good in smoothies, oatmeal, frozen fruit pops, hummus, pudding, energy balls, soups, stews, marinade and baked goods. I hope you enjoyed some of my favorite superfoods. Wishing everyone well during this chaotic time.

Peace & love ✌🏽
